Day 120 :
Part of a fountain at Durban Country Club. Not a pretty, colourful picture but interesting the effect the sun and wind has on the water casting shadows and blowing the spray.

Day 119:
Wedding fever in the household today. Stayed close to the TV most of the day. Managed to get this snap of the inside of a miniature rose.

Day 118:
This is the fibrous base of a horrible prickly thing I cut down a few weeks back. The fibres are now drying out and standing up like sea weed.

Day 115:
I have been very good and excluded pets but today is an 'Aah!' moment. This is one of the new additions to the family (Murray and Jess) and I still have not worked out who is who but one is Mags and the other Molly. The 'other' would not sit still for one minute. They are pet rescue sisters and magic.

Day 114:
This is my sister-in-laws up turned rubber door mat that was hanging over a wall to dry. I took the photo on a whim and it is probably one of the best shots I took today.

Day 113:
Durban holding or shunting yard ... not quite sure what it is called. Being the Easter weekend not many trains are running hence the number.

Day 112:
Sunset over Durban Ski Boat Club. The day before the start of the fishing champs. All the boats lined up for launching early tomorrow morning.

If you look very carefully you will see I even captured and ant in the middle of the main flower ..... surprised me to!

Day 108:
I just love this miniature cactus. It looks like a spider has gone round and around and got himself in a mess

Day 107:
The beginnings of a palm date frond. The contrast of the frond emerging from its casing against the greens is what attracted me.

Day 106:
Responding to a call from Japan for quilts, my local quilt shop is running a campaign whereby you purchase a 5" Shwe-Shwe fabric square for R5, donate it to the shop, and they put the quilts together. The response has been great and they will ultimately have put together 8 quilts. This is a section of the one I am working on.

Day 105:
Mum hated moths .....particularly these biggies which are attracted by the house lights at night and fly in. I like the angle of the pic. Quite scary!

Day 104:
My first 'Red Hot Poker' flower. This is amongst a clump I have on my verge that gets very little attention. I only spotted it late this afternoon so I will be talking to those in the front garden tomorrow morning and telling them they have been out done.

13 April 2011
Yes, I have broken my rule not to put two up on one day, but sorry, it had to be done. I had so much fun yesterday and as they were done last night in artificial light I wanted to see what would happen in daylight. The first is with normal marbles and the second with just one very large almost opaque marble. I have just had so much fun and have masses of pics.

Day 102:
How cool is this. I remembered the kaleidoscope that used to belong to my mum and wondered if I could photograph the images and yes I can! I found it difficult to position exactly so as not to disturb the image I had created but hey who cares.

Day 101:
This is a picture of the back cover of a wonderful book my son gave me. In the basket are the over-runs or proof sheets of tin labels which somehow are acquired by entrepreneurs in the townships which they sell as 'wallpaper' for the inside of their 'homes'. Quite something to see.

10 April 2011
Day 100:
Yeah! 100 days down the line and still enjoying. This picture is not the sharpest as it was taken thru a dirty window plus these collared sunbirds do not stay still for long. This is outside the lounge window and I have battled to get one this 'good'. I have to be prepared with camera on hand and minimal movement. Not easy.

Day 98:
This is definitely the year of the 'newbies'. These toadstools have popped up amongst a pile of old fungi which were around an old tree stump which I discarded under the bird feeder.
07 April 2011
Day 97:
Had a breakfast function at the Point Yacht Club this morning . Wind blowing and displaying the flags nicely.

Day 96:
This was an interesting exercise which I nearly bailed on, but actually extended by a day. I found it very restricting . The liberation of taking a picture a day became boring as I wanted to change the subject matter. Tomorrow is another day, yeah!

05 April 2011
Day 95:
The temperature has dropped at last and we are having rain ..... light and soaking, much needed. I will do one more day as she is not fully open.

Day 93:
It is proving very difficult to take the pictures from the same place as this bud is developing very definite right and wrong sides as it opens.
Saturday, April 2, 2011
02 April 2011
Day 92:
Maybe a cop out, but I thought I would follow this bud for the next few days. Unfortunately I could not get a shot from the same side as yesterday. I probably will be able to follow it from the same side over the next few days.

01 April 2011
Day 91:
The weather is still extremely hot and humid at the moment which is quite unusual. My rose bushes have taken a hammering but have sent out a number of fresh buds which I am nurturing.
